Admission Guidelines for Bachelor of Pharmacy program
The course offered of BCDA College of Pharmacy & Technology is Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm). The duration of the course is four years as per the syllabus of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Kolkata and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. Minimum qualification for admission to the course is (10+2), of West Bengal , Council of Higher Secondary Education with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology or an equivalent examination of other approved board of university and qualified WBJEEB / JEE (main), subject to online selection by the WBJEEB, Kolkata, West Bengal. We also admit 10% students from JEE main in each academic year.
As the affiliating university the degree is awarded by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Salt Lake City, Kolkata to the successful candidate.
As per the guidelines of PCI, candidates passed Diploma in Pharmacy examination securing minimum 50% (45% for SC) from a College approved by Pharmacy Council of India and qualified in W.B.J.E.E. (Pharmacy) for Lateral Entry (JELET), and subjects to selection by the WBJEEB of Engineering & Technology 10% students are admitted.
As we admit the students through the WBJEE and JEE main for which counseling is done by the WBJEEB after conduction and allocation of rank to aspirants students, hence for further details, the guidelines of WBJEEB is attached herewith for further reference.

About our Post Graduate (P.G) Program
The College is to start one P.G program that is Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics.
Introduction: Pharmacists are the multi services health care provider all over the globe. It is a well recognized fact that the course of Pharmaceutics focuses on the study of the core area of manufacturing technology of finished pharmaceuticals product like- oral dosages forms, sterile products means parenteral & ophthalmic products, external uses items like - medicated creams, ointments, lotions, including cosmetics. Keeping all theabove in mind and the role played by manufacturing pharmacists in Pharmaceutical Production Houses and R & D, the curriculums are designed accordingly. The course trains students in the above mentioned aspects and makes them ready to take on various roles in the Pharmaceutical industry from production of basic drugs to complete dosages form (finished product) for the sufferer mankind. Possessing the knowledge of manufacturing medicines, pharmacy post graduates may perform tasks such as formulation & development of perfect and quality dosages for the global citizen, along with design and development of site specific targeted formulations for complicated treatment.
One can work in pharmaceutical production houses, pharmacy consultancy, and pharmaceutical marketing research companies, including patent and clinical trials, drug regulatory affairs and Pharmaclovigilance, alongside R& D, after awarding M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics.
In general, M. Pharm is a two-year post-graduate course which has been designed to focus on the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Under this program, the students get in-depth knowledge on how to prepare medicines, performing QC, QA and R& D etc. One of the prime concerns under pharmaceutics is that it deals with dosage form designing, manufacturing of quality dosages form.
Admission Process: M Pharm admission is based on entrance exams like - GPAT & PGET for our MAKAUT.
Duration of course: Master of Pharmacy (M Pharm) is a postgraduate degree of 2 years duration.
Award of degree: Degree is awarded during the convocation of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology to the successful candidates in the particular academic session.
Eligibility Criteria: 55% in B.Pharm from PCI recognized college /university and 50 % for SC/ST.
