It is my proud privilege being the Principal of the BCDA College of Pharmacy & Technology since May 2006, from the day of functioning. It also gives me immense pleasure that by this span the BCDA College of Pharmacy & Technology has gained huge reputation to the different apex bodies like the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Kolkata, Ministry of Higher Education, Directorate of Technical Education Govt. of West Bengal, AICTE & PCI, New Delhi, for its disciplined cultured, and excellent academic infrastructure for providing quality educations to students.
BCDA College of Pharmacy & Technology is managed by BCDA Members Benevolent Trust, fully from philanthropic viewpoint, “Servicing of the Humanity is the Motto of the Trust & BCDA itself also, and expanding the pharmacy education is their main objective. It has also been reflected in developing the infrastructure of the College, availability and retention of faculties. The College has adequate well equipped laboratories and rich collections of books in library, well connected e- library.
I am very proud to say that the College started with a team of young but genius faculties for making the Institute one of the “Centre of excellence in the field of pharmaceutical education” also being successful in motivating the faculties, students and staff towards achieving the goal. At present, we have good number faculties engaged in research activities, one fourth of faculties are doctorate qualified at present which will be one third very soon.
By this period the students of the BCDA College of Pharmacy & Technology have shown their academic brilliancy by acquiring three top positions like 1st, 2nd & 3rd under MAKAUT in session 2013-17. In session 2014-18, one of our students ranked 2nd and two of them ranked jointly 3rd. Apart from those the college is proud of for its four GOLD MEDALISTS, three SILVER MEDALISTS and two BRONZE MEDALISTS in MAKAUT final examinations since its establishment in 2006. The students also made us proud as three of them also ranked 1st in West Bengal among the three universities like- MAKAUT itself, Jadavpur University & West Bengal University of Health Sciences, all are located in West Bengal and conducting Pharmaceutical Technology .
As a matter of fact, we are bigheaded that good numbers of students have got the opportunity in the foreign universities for higher education with full scholarship in USA, Republic of Korea, and Republic of China, Australia, Hong Kong, Israel, Singapore and more to name. We are conceited also for our alumni for their academics, professional as well as role as a health care taker.
I am in belief that, the College will be successful in achieving its objectives by generating more and more such genius, talent, and globally competent pharmacists.
